Post-Licensure Nursing Student Placements
Community Health Network supports nurses who are working toward advanced degrees (RN to BSN, non-provider MSN, CNS, DNP or PhD) from affiliated schools. Educational opportunities for non-provider graduate students include clinical practicum experiences, non-clinical professional preceptorships or mentorships, and research. How To Request Post-Licensure Placement
If you are a post-licensure nursing student we are happy to consider your request for placement if you are attending an affiliated school of nursing. Please review the requirements below prior to submitting your application.
Who Can Apply?
Post-licensure degrees for which we do placements include:
- RN to BSN
- Non-provider MSN
- CNS*
- Non-provider DNP
- PhD
*CNS is an advanced practice role, but the placement, credentialing and onboarding process for clinical rotations follows more closely with these degree types.
Requirements
All students, whether a Community caregiver or not, must submit a request and be attending an accredited school of nursing with which Community Health Network has an affiliation.

Q: Does Community Health Network work with my school?
A: We only accept students from universities with an active, fully executed legal affiliation agreement. You can check our current list of partner school above. If your school is not listed, we may not be able to accommodate your request at this time.
Q: Do you establish new affiliation agreements?
A: New agreements are considered on a case-by-case basis and must align with our strategic recruitment goals. Please note that the legal review process for a new agreement can take several months and is not guaranteed.
Q: Does submitting a request guarantee a placement?
A: No. Due to high demand, submitting an application does not guarantee placement. We work hard to match as many students as possible based on preceptor availability and capacity.
Research Project Requirements
If you plan to complete any research or gather any data during your clinical education experience, in addition to submitting the request above, you must also submit an application to the Network Nursing Research Council. Please complete the application and project support forms below and submit them to the contact on the application. Work with your Community preceptor/mentor throughout this approval process. Students are not to conduct research or gather any data until approval has been received from the Network Nursing Research Council and, if deemed required by the Council, from the IRB.
