Moms and babies who are currently breastfeeding are welcome at our FREE support groups. During support group, moms are encouraged to feed their babies and talk with other mothers. A lactation consultant will be available to talk about basic concerns and answer questions about breastfeeding. You may also weigh your baby before and after feedings while at group. Pre-registration is required to attend group at Community Hospital North and Community Hospital South.

This one-session virtual class is taught by a lactation consultant and is part two of the Breastfeeding Basics class. The lactation consultant will dive deeper into pumping, types of pumps, milk storage, going back to work, and other helpful tips and tricks for your breastfeeding/pumping journey. Breastfeeding Basics should be taken prior to taking this class. We recommend taking this class during your third trimester. Dads and partners are encouraged to attend and do not need to register.

This is a 5-hour, one-day class divided into two sessions. The morning session covers labor and birth, comfort measures, and medical labor options. The afternoon session covers remaining medical options in labor, cesarean birth, hospital care and baby care. This is a slightly shortened version of the weeknight classes. This class will be held in person and you will receive a book during class. Dads and partners are encouraged to attend and do not need to register for the class.

This free class is taught by a pediatrician with over 20 years of experience, Dr. William J. Fisher. Topics include what to expect during the delivery, newborn care and safety after you go home from the hospital, and how to transition to life after the baby. After the presentation there is a Q & A with Dr. Fisher that often includes questions about gear, work-life balance, immunizations and how to choose a pediatrician.

This one-session virtual class discusses how to prepare your body for labor, comfort measures, birth hormones, and tips for how to have a non-medicated birth. For first time parents, it is preferred, but not required, to complete the Birth and Baby series first. Dads and partners are encouraged to attend and do not need to register for the class.
