At Community Health Network we believe that cancer survivors should be celebrated each day. If you know someone who is living with a history of cancer, take a moment to honor them. Find a way to let them know how happy you are that they are in your life. To get you thinking, here are 10 simple ways to honor a cancer survivor:
- Mail a greeting card or send a handwritten note of gratitude/admiration of the survivors' accomplishment.
- Pick up the phone or send a text to let them know you are thinking of them on this day.
- Send a bouquet of flowers.
- Go to lunch or out for coffee- or try some new experience or event together.
- Give a small token/gift of encouragement. Handmade is even better!
- Plant a flower/plant/tree in honor of the survivor.
- Walk a trail or around a park together and encourage the survivor to reflect on how far they have come in their journey.
- Sign up for a 5K in their honor.
- Take a memorable photo or fun video together.
- Make a donation to a cancer charity or foundation in honor of the cancer survivor.
