The Cardiovascular Sonographer Reg performs a variety of diagnostic and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.

• Completes testing, accurately documents results of testing, and prepares data for physician interpretation.
• Explains procedures in terms patient can understand. Answers patient and family questions to elicit cooperation and relieve apprehension.
• Assists physicians/co-workers in the performance of diagnostic testing procedures promoting team concept to insure best possible patient outcomes.
• Rotates to various diagnostic testing procedures and duties within the department. Assists, as needed, with procedures not routinely performed.

• Ability to adapt to a variety of situations, change, and new learnings.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
• Ability to use knowledge of or gain knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software within the subject matter area of this position.
• Skill in operating ultrasound equipment.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program is required.
• Certification/License: Must be registered through Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
• Other Certifications/Licensures: (RDCS or RCS credentialed in ECHO and RVT or RCS credentialed in vascular sonography. For those not registered upon entering the job, they must secure credentialing through ARDMS within 18 months of employment.)
