Applicant FAQs
Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re thrilled that you're considering joining the Community team. To make your application process smoother, we’ve put together an application FAQ that covers common questions job seekers might have. Whether you’re wondering about our company culture, application requirements, or interview process, you’ll find valuable information here. Let’s get started!
How do I apply?
Returning applicants will need to visit the Returning Applicants page. On desktop, this can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the Careers website. On mobile, you will need to click Careers Menu at the top to access the Returning Applicants login page.
To find open jobs, visit the Job Search page. You can filter jobs by job family, location and schedule (such as full time, part time and shift). You can also search by job category or enter keywords in the search box.
Once you find a job you are interested in, click on it for more detail. To apply for a position, click on the orange button that says Apply Today!
How do I request a reasonable accommodation?
Call the Community Service Center at 317-621-7777 to initiate a request to speak with Human Resources.
How long does it take to complete an application?
Completing an application takes 5-10 minutes if you have all of the required information available. Information you will need includes:
- Full legal name
- Phone number
- Address
- Work history with accurate company names and employment dates
- School name, city and state, and completion date
- Licensure, if required per the position
- Resume
Should I list all of my employment history?
For clinical and professional positions, we recommend that you list all experience related to the position you are applying to. For all non-clinical roles that you’re applying to we recommend you list all experience.
Note: If you worked at a facility through an agency/staffing/travel company, we need the name of that agency to verify employment rather than the facility where you are working.
How do I change or reset my password?
Go to My Account Options, scroll down to the password section and click Edit. You will need your current password that you used to log in to create your new password. Then click Save. You will be required to sign in again after you change your password.
If the email to change your password hasn't arrived or you are otherwise having trouble resetting your password, first check your spam/junk email folders. If it is not there, call our Community Service Center at 317-621-7777.
Can I apply for multiple positions?
Yes! We encourage you to apply to all positions that meet your qualifications and interests. You do not need to complete a full application every time you apply to another position after your initial application. After your initial application, you will have the option to update your information under each section to tailor it to each position you apply to. There is an option to sign up to be notified of job openings you are interested in.

Can I check the status of my application?
You can check the status of your submission on our Careers website, eCommunity.com/careers, by clicking on Returning Applicants in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Log into your user account and click on the My Jobpage tab, then My Submissions. Under your Completed Submissions, you'll see the status within the position summary under Submission Status.
On your mobile device, you can check the status of your submission by tapping on the three bars to the right of Careers Menu and then tapping Returning Applicants. If the status says Active (Accepting Job Submissions), you are still under consideration for that position. If the Submission Status indicates No Longer Being Considered, it means that we are not moving your application forward in the process at this time.
Can I speak directly to a manager or a recruiter?
If there is an interest in progressing your application to the next step of the selection process, you will be contacted by a recruiter or manager. Otherwise you may check the status of your application at eCommunity.com/careers by clicking on Returning Applicants.
When can I expect an interview?
If there is an interest in progressing your application to the next step of the selection process, you will be contacted by a recruiter or manager. You may check the status of your application at eCommunity.com/careers by clicking on Returning Applicants.
Our leaders prioritize hiring, but please be patient as serving patients first is our number one priority, so you may experience a few days’ delay in follow-up to your application and potential interview.
I recently applied or interviewed for a position and was not selected. Can I reapply?
Of course! We encourage you to apply to all positions that meet your qualifications and interests.
What is a phone screen and how do I prepare for it?
You may receive a call or text from a recruiter to discuss the position in more detail prior to being granted an interview. This is traditionally called a "phone screen." During this time, be prepared to discuss your interest in Community, the role you applied to and your qualifications for that role.
How do I prepare for an interview?
Interviews can be conducted via phone, virtual/video or in person. There are a number of articles and videos online to help you prepare for interviews.
- Be on time!
- For both phone and virtual, be sure to have a nice quiet place to talk without distractions and noise. Find more video interview tips here.
- If virtual, log in early, to be sure you have the necessary software. Make sure you have good internet connection. Make sure your visible background is appropriate for being on video. Be sure to wear appropriate attire that will be visible in the video.
- If in person, be sure to have the correct address, location in the building you will be meeting, and the name of the person you are meeting with.
- Bring copies of your resume and be prepared with questions about the position you applied to as well as questions about Community Health Network.
- Most interviews are behavioral based so be prepared with good examples of your experience. A couple of examples of behavioral based interview questions are, "Tell us about a time that you had to adapt to a difficult situation." and "Give me a recent example that best shows your ability to communicate effectively."
