Community Hospital North top in the state for deliveries in 2020

For seven years in a row, Community Hospital North has delivered the most babies in Indiana. The State Health Department recently confirmed that the hospital again claimed the top spot for deliveries in the state for the year 2020.

Here’s a look at the numbers for 2020 for Community Hospital North Labor and Delivery:

  • Total births: 4019
  • Males: 2124
  • Females: 1895
  • Sets of twins: 88
  • Sets of triplets: 3
  • Highest delivery day: 2/20/2020—22 births
  • Highest delivery month: August—373
  • Babies receiving NICU care: 733

First baby Emery and his familyBaby Emery James Short (pictured right) was the first to be born at Community Hospital North in 2020. The New Year’s baby boy is the son of Violet and Grant Short of Indianapolis, one of thousands of families who chose Community Hospital North for their delivery.

Community Hospital North has held this honor of delivering the most babies in Indiana since 2014.
