Indianapolis—Community Health Network would like to congratulate Chief Physician Executive Ramarao (Ram) Yeleti, MD, on being honored by the Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) with the Douglas J. Leonard Caregiver of the Year Award. This happened Thursday at the IHA’s 2021 Annual Meeting, which was held virtually.
The award recognizes individuals in the health care industry whose performance in the delivery of care is considered exemplary by patients and peers. “IHA is extremely proud to honor Dr. Ram Yeleti,” said IHA President Brian Tabor. “Dr. Yeleti’s contributions are vital to Community Health Network and to advancing health care in the Hoosier state. This year has been one of the most difficult as we’ve learned to navigate through a global pandemic,” Tabor said. “COVID-19 affected everyone in health care, from frontline workers to administrative staff, to our patients and their families.”
From the day the first case of COVID-19 was diagnosed in Indiana at Community Health Network, Dr. Yeleti made it his mission to inform and educate the public about this deadly illness. Not only did he provide guidance to Community patients, caregivers and communities, he has been a trusted source for local and state health leaders and organizations.
Dr. Yeleti provides clinical leadership across a continuum of care that includes eight hospitals and more than 200 sites of care through his role as Community Health Network’s chief physician executive. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Yeleti says he’s honored to receive this distinguished IHA award.
The Indiana Hospital Association serves as the professional trade association for more than 170 acute care, critical access, behavioral health, and other specialty hospitals in Indiana.
