Welcome from the Program Director

Dr. Rachel Shockley, Community South Osteopathic Residency directorWelcome, and thank you for your interest in the Community South Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency Program.

Choosing a residency is one of the most important decisions of your medical career. Beyond finding excellent clinical training, you are seeking a community that will support your growth, challenge you to become your best, and prepare you for a lifetime of caring for patients. At Community South, we are proud to offer all three.

Our residency combines robust family medicine training with a strong commitment to osteopathic principles and practice. Residents care for diverse patient populations across inpatient and outpatient settings while developing the clinical skills, confidence and professionalism necessary to thrive in any practice environment.

What truly sets our program apart is our people. As a small residency, we foster meaningful relationships among residents, faculty and staff. We know our residents individually, celebrate their successes, support them through challenges, foster a variety of clinical interests, and are deeply invested in their personal and professional development. Our culture is one of collaboration, respect, curiosity and lifelong learning.

We are committed to training compassionate physicians who provide exceptional patient care while remaining connected to the communities they serve. Whether your future includes outpatient family medicine or fellowship training, we are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals.

I invite you to explore our website, learn more about our residents, faculty and curriculum, and discover what makes Community South such a special place to train. We appreciate your interest and look forward to sharing our program with you.
