Indianapolis, IN—Community Health Network has named Indianapolis city-county councilor Maggie A. Lewis, MPA to its board of directors.
Lewis, who represents Indianapolis’ 10th district and is majority leader for the council, joins the board effective this month.
A graduate of Indiana State University, Lewis earned her bachelor of science degree in community health education and master's degree in public administration. She served as president of the Indianapolis City-County Council for six years and is the first woman in Council history to hold that position. She was also the first woman elected to serve as majority leader of the Council.
Lewis serves as chief executive officer of Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis (BGCI). Her community involvement includes Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc, and LINKS, Inc.
