Community Health Network reaches COVID vaccine milestone

50-thousand doses administered to healthcare workers and community

Indianapolis, IN—Community Health Network reached a major milestone in its effort to vaccinate eligible Hoosiers against COVID-19 when it administered its 50-thousandth (50,000) dose at the vaccine clinic at Community Hospital South on Friday.

Imah Rodgers, 50,000th vaccine recipient at CommunityImah Rodgers, 84, of Clayton, Indiana, was recognized as the 50-thousandth Community vaccine dose recipient when she received her first dose at Community South. Mrs. Rodgers, who was accompanied by her sister, said she was eager to get vaccinated so she could visit with family.

Community opened its first vaccine clinics at Community Hospital North and Community Hospital Anderson in December; the clinics expanded to the East and South hospitals in January.

Steve Glover was the first recipient of the vaccine at Community. A patient care coordinator and an African-American, Glover saw tragedy first-hand and wanted to be the first to get a vaccination to ‘show my race and my family that I am ok’.
