Medical Assistant Externship
Community understands the need to recruit highly qualified, professional and patient-focused individuals to work with physicians, nurses and patients in our physician offices and ambulatory clinics. We want to be proactive in providing clinical training experiences that help develop successful medical assistants. Community affiliates with several medical assistant training programs by providing high-quality externships that are required by your training program. We provide a preceptor and a practice setting for the number of hours required by your program. The training experience is guided by your school checklist and requirements. This specialized offering is designed to strengthen clinical and educational preparation as well as open the door to employment opportunities.
- You must be actively enrolled and in good standing in a school with an affiliation agreement with Community Health Network.
- Applications will not be accepted if you have already completed your program.
- Applications will only be accepted if an instructor has contacted Community Health Network to notify of a student applying.
- Placements will primarily be in family medicine and internal medicine offices. A few specialty experiences are available, such as cardiac, endocrinology, pediatrics, etc.
At Community Health Network, our values are important to our culture and the exceptional experience we provide our patients and team members. In order to ensure students uphold these values as well, we require all students to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. You will complete this step when applying.
