Travel Medicine Services

Travel medicine is a specialty that promotes wellness in those traveling abroad. Our physician is uniquely trained to provide preventive vaccinations and counseling for healthy travel. Make an appointment with our travel medicine specialist for the following services:

  • Post-travel illness consultations

Travel Vaccines and Immunizations

Our physician who specializes in travel medicine is certified to administer preventive vaccines for the following diseases:

  • Yellow fever
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Rabies
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Meningitis
  • Polio
  • Measles
  • Chikungunya

Patients can also receive post-travel care if they contract certain diseases during their trip.

Travel Counseling

Pre-travel counseling is an important step to keep you safe and healthy during your upcoming trip. In addition to the appropriate vaccines, our provider can give you tips and education about your destination such as food safety, insect protection, and other helpful prevention information.

What To Expect

  • Please book your appointment two months in advance of your travel.
  • Bring a copy of your itinerary and your current vaccination records to your appointment. Our provider will be able to give you personalized recommendations based on this information.
  • Complete the below questionnaire prior to your appointment. You may bring a copy of your completed questionnaire to your appointment or send it to your provider via MyChart.
  • Medicare and Medicaid/HIP do not cover the cost of the travel medicine consultation, therefore a $77.25 consultation fee will be collected at the time of service. We will bill vaccines to insurance for patients.

Meet the Provider

Unique certifications are required for physicians to provide travel medicine services. Dr. Henein has both a Certificate in Travel Health™ from the International Society of Travel Medicine and a Certificate of Tropical Medicine® from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
