Meet the Dietitians

Megan Allen, RDN, LD

Megan Allen, registered dietitianMegan Allen is a registered dietitian for the ambulatory dietitian team. She has a special interest in diabetes management, pregnancy and postpartum and gastrointestinal conditions. Megan became a registered dietitian in 2015 and a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist in 2021.

Megan received her bachelor of science degree in dietetics and nutrition/fitness/health from Purdue University and completed her internship at Purdue University as well. Her past experience includes work in long-term care, rehab and private practice. 

In her free time, Megan enjoys reading, long walks with her dog, and spending time outside with her daughter. She loves trying new foods, restaurants and recipes to share fresh ideas with her patients, friends and family. 

Kara Berning, MS, RDN, LD

Kara Berning, registered dietitianKara was born and raised in Indiana. She completed her bachelor's degree at Purdue University. Then she completed her dietetic internship and master’s degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. She has been a registered dietitian since 2013 and has been with Community Health Network since 2014. Prior to her current role on the ambulatory team, Kara worked in the hospital as a clinical dietitian for three years. She enjoys working with all types of patients and has a special interest in heart health, PCOS, sports nutrition and GI conditions. Kara is passionate about helping her patients have a healthy relationship with food while reaching their nutrition goals.  

She and her husband are blessed with two sons and dogs. In her free time, Kara enjoys spending time on the lake with family and friends, gardening, reading, cooking, and crafting.

Kim Carlton, RDN, LD, CDCES

Kim Carlton, registered dietitianKim is a fellow Hoosier who graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and a minor in psychology. She completed her dietetic internship in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been a dietitian for more than 25 years, with the majority of her experience working in the field of kidney disease and dialysis. Kim is familiar with the Community family from working at Community Hospitals North and East from 1992-1994. She joined Community Health Network in April 2019.

Kim has a passion for helping people with diabetes and kidney disease feel better through healthy eating habits and nutrition. She has served on numerous committees with the National Kidney Foundation (Indiana and Rocky Mountain Region Chapters) and is involved with the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. 

Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, hiking and trying new recipes. She likes to read, knit and be with family.

Carole Corder, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES

Carole Corder, registered dietitianCarole is the supervising dietitian for the ambulatory dietitian team at Community Physician Network. She has more than 30 years of experience in providing outpatient medical nutrition therapy. Her passion is diabetes. She enjoys helping patients learn to self-manage their diabetes and improve their overall health.

She loves old cars and spending time at the lake. She enjoys hunting for beach glass, long walks, kayaking, playing with her golden retriever and traveling.

Brooke Fenneman, MS, RD, LD

Brooke Fenneman, registered dietitianBrooke received her BS in Nutrition & Dietetics from Iowa State University and her MS from Indiana University, which also included a Pediatric Nutrition Fellowship.

Brooke has more than 17 years of experience, working most of the years in pediatrics at Riley Hospital for Children and Community Health Network’s NICU. 

Brooke’s nutrition focus areas and specialties include infant nutrition, failure to thrive, pediatric/adolescent nutrition, sports nutrition, weight management and mindful eating.

Brooke enjoys spending time with her family. She loves all things equestrian and visiting the beach.

Meg Grindall, RDN, CDCES

Meg Grindall, registered dietitianMeg completed her bachelor of science degree in nutrition at North Dakota State University in Fargo. She completed her internship in dietetics through Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Additionally, she has completed education to be a certified diabetes educator.

Before joining Community, Meg worked in long-term care, college food service and consulting in the Fargo/Moorhead area. Meg's special interests include vegetarian/vegan diets (being a vegetarian herself for over 30 years), celiac disease and sports nutrition.

Meg and her husband enjoy traveling to tropical locations and doing outdoor activities (biking, running, kayaking, SUP, sailing, snorkeling). Meg also enjoys cooking and spending time with family and her cats.

Kim Hardin, RDN, LD, CDCES

Kim Hardin, registered dietitianKim received her bachelor of science in nutrition and dietetics from Indiana University in Bloomington and completed her internship at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She is also a certified diabetes care and education specialist.

Kim has more than 30 years of experience working in various healthcare settings, hospital, ICU, physician offices and home health care. She has been with Community Health Network since 2009. She enjoys helping patients with their healthy eating journey. Her nutrition focus areas and specialties include pediatrics, GI disorders, diabetes, behavioral health, weight management, wound care and mindful eating.

Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband and dog, Teddy. She loves winter mountain vacations, exploring and hiking in national parks, gardening, reading, and trying new foods.

Lindsey Hughes, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES

Lindsey Hughes, registered dietitianLindsey completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees through Ball State University. She became a registered dietitian in 2009 and has been with Community Health Network since 2014. Prior to working with Community she spent a few years in Memphis, Tennessee working in the inpatient setting. She has been a certified diabetes care and education specialist since 2017.

She enjoys working with all types of patients and has special interests in diabetes, gastrointestinal conditions, pediatric/adolescent nutrition and kidney disease. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, being active and trying out new recipes. 

April Kleber, MHA, RDN, LD

April Kleber, registered dietitianApril completed her bachelor’s degree at Ball State University and master’s degree at University of Southern Indiana. She has worked at Community Health Network since 2014. As a registered and licensed dietitian, she prioritizes education based on scientific evidence along with patient-centered concerns. Her experience includes long-term care, pediatrics, food allergies and outpatient nutrition therapy working with many chronic diseases.

She is passionate about focusing on a patient’s personal long- and short-term goals by incorporating helpful steps to help them establish a healthier relationship with food and nutrition. She believes understanding chronic conditions and working through how to make realistic adjustments are essential to overall self-care.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.

Karlyn Lynch, RDN, LD

Karlyn Lynch, registered dietitianKarlyn was born and raised in Indiana. She received her bachelor of science degree in dietetics from Ball State University and completed an internship through Ball State University with clinical rotations at Community Health Network. Karlyn has worked for Community Health Network since 2003. Her experience includes inpatient clinical, coverage at the Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic and outpatient care since 2006. She has a passion for education and meeting patients where they are in their health journey. 

Karlyn's special interests include women’s health, diabetes, heart health, weight management and mindful eating.

Karlyn enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, going to concerts, and being active outdoors.

Karen Neff-Zebrauskas, RDN, LD

Karen Neff-Zebrauskas, registered dietitianKaren grew up in the Chicago suburbs and obtained her bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois State University. She earned a second degree in dietetics from Western Michigan University. She completed her dietetic internship at Central Michigan University before moving to Indianapolis with her husband in 2002. Karen has been employed with Community since then. She has been in the outpatient counseling setting for most of that time. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Behavior Health Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group.

Karen enjoys working with a variety of patients. Her nutrition focus and specialties include eating disorders, food allergy, GI disorders, pediatric/adolescent nutrition, weight management and mindful eating.

When not working, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters. She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, boating and golf.

Mary O'Callaghan, MEd, RDN, CDCES

Mary O'Callaghan, registered dietitianMary has been an ambulatory dietitian for Community Physician Network since 2012 and brings over 30 years of experience in providing individual and group medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Her passion is working with individuals who want to explore how food can facilitate the healing process and manage chronic illness. Before joining the amazing Community staff, Mary provided care in various healthcare environments including pediatric hospitals, home care and hospice in addition to traditional hospitals with diabetes and heart disease services. Mary's special interests include whole foods first, with focus on plant-based meals for managing diabetes, cardiac and pulmonary challenges for all ages. She enjoys helping patients learn tools that help with self-management and balancing personal goals with medical needs to improve overall health outcomes.

Mary received her bachelor of science in nutrition and dietetics from The Ohio State University and her master’s in education from Indiana University. She has retained a specialist certification in diabetes care and education since 1997.

In her free time, she is committed to a faith-based community, teaches children to be safe in and around pools, and values time with her family. Recently added to her high school's Hall of Fame wall for her competitive swimming achievements, Mary enjoys sports competition in and out of the swimming pool.

Amanda Pantone, MPH, RDN, LD

Amanda Pantone, registered dietitianAmanda received her undergraduate degree in dietetics from Indiana State University and also minored in psychology. She received a master’s degree in public health from Purdue University. Amanda started her career as a registered dietitian working in long-term care where she worked with individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, malnutrition and wound care needs.

Amanda has worked at Community Health Network as an outpatient dietitian since 2019. She has a passion for teaching others and for patient care. Amanda enjoys advancing her knowledge in all areas of nutrition therapy including, but not limited to, diabetes, heart health, wound care and weight management. Amanda enjoys sharing meal planning tips and tricks that fit into her patients' lifestyles because one of her favorite pastimes is cooking!

Amanda lives in Indianapolis with her husband, son and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family hiking, biking, camping, cooking and trying new foods!

Abby Self, RDN, LD

Abby Self, registered dietitianAbby graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor of science degree in nutrition in 2013. She started her career at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA and then worked for WIC in Springfield, MA. In 2016, she completed her dietetic internship through UMASS’s practicum program. She moved to Indiana in 2016 and worked as a bariatric weight management dietitian.

She has a love for nutrition and enjoys helping patients develop a healthy lifestyle. She recognizes the importance of providing individualized education to help patients achieve their specific nutrition goals.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking delicious foods, traveling, running, spending time outdoors, and enjoying life with her husband, kids, and two goldendoodles.

Elilta Tsegai, MS, RDN, LD

Elilta Tsegai, registered dietitianElilta is a proud Hoosier who received her bachelor's degree in nutrition and dietetics from Indiana University in 2013. Thereafter, she completed a two-year internship and master's program at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. Prior to joining the ambulatory team at Community, Elilta worked in long-term care and rehabilitation with Prism Healthcare serving the south side of Chicago. She now serves the Indianapolis community through application of individualized medical nutrition therapy, which focuses on helping patients make realistic lifestyle changes to manage diabetes, hypertension, weight management and much more.

In her free time, she enjoys raising her two toddlers, cooking, and entertaining family and friends with her husband. She’s passionate about exploring new cities, recipes and restaurants.

Sara Wisehart, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES

Sara Wisehart, registered dietitianSara completed her bachelor’s degree at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She completed her internship and master’s degree at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. She has previous experience in outpatient education, employee wellness and long-term care. She specializes in diabetes education and has a passion for health, wellness and sports nutrition.

Sara resides in Indianapolis with her husband and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, doing anything active and listening to live music.
