Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
This program is a co-ed service that offers in-person assistance to patients and their families affected by drug and alcohol use. Adolescent IOP is three nights a week from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and lasts 20-24 sessions. Additionally, this program involves family participation to ensure a comprehensive approach to the patient's healing process.
Adolescent Level One Therapy Program
Level One adds a group therapy element to the treatment plan. The group’s focus is substance use disorder treatment and associated issues that cause moderate impairment in the individual’s life. The program aims to improve communication, strengthen relationships and create a supportive environment for the adolescent's recovery journey. Additionally, group therapy sessions provide a safe space for adolescents to share their experiences, learn from others and develop coping strategies together. Treatment goals will address lifestyle, attitudinal and behavioral issues that are interfering with functioning or recovery. Sessions are one hour per week for 12 weeks on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.
Adolescent Recovery Management
Recovery Management is an essential part of the recovery journey. Recovery Management is not a therapeutic level of care but a program to support the adolescent as they balance life in recovery through coaching support.
Meets once a week for an hour and is available to support the adolescent as long as the adolescent feels is necessary.
Prevention Education
Our prevention program (Prime for Life/Marijuana Education) is a substance abuse education program designed for those actively making high-risk choices who may have incurred legal consequences as a result of alcohol and drug use. Typically, participants in this class have been referred to Community Fairbanks Recovery Center by probation, attorneys, schools, etc. The classes are mainly on short- and long-term impact of substance use; participants focus on identifying how addiction develops and high-risk choices. Increased focus on motivational interviewing on how to increase awareness of belief systems regarding continued high-risk choices (includes CBT-rationalizing and identifying defense mechanisms).
