Kokomo—Community Howard Regional Health announced today Dr. Samantha Buszek has joined the Community Oncology Center as the center’s full-time radiation oncologist.
Dr. Buszek comes to Kokomo from the world-renowned The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Buszek earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College Of Medicine. She went on to complete her internship in internal medicine at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati as well as a residency in radiation oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Buszek is committed to practicing evidence-based oncology care, while supporting her patient’s overall wellbeing every step of the way through their treatment course.
Dr. Buszek has performed medical research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Kettering Medical Center, The Jewish Hospital, and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and has presented her findings at national conferences and published over 20 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She has also written and run her own clinical trial on the treatment of brain metastases with radiation therapy.
In her free time she enjoys being outside with her family, as well as exercising, baking cakes, and doing crafts.
