Their Spotlight nominations exemplify how they demonstrate influential leadership, the qualities of servant leadership and innovation in the practice. Read excerpts from their nominations below:

Why Dr. Pohlman....

Dr. Pohlman Spotlight digital boardWe are truly blessed to have her in our family!

Dr. Pohlman is a down-to-earth physician who will take care of staff and patients after hours. She will schedule patients, gets right in the mix of everything, rolls up her sleeves and does the work. She NEVER complains! She is our PMD-fabulous role model, creating simple messages that have helped us implement our new normal and hours of operation, scheduling the providers and taking care of patients. She will also see other providers' patients if there is a scheduling issue, etc. She never blames or gets angry.

Dr. Pohlman is an example of a kind heart in medicine that serves our patients with open arms. I have never seen her without a smile on her face when I was in training. It is our energy that helps the healing process of our patients and even makes the days of our colleagues around us and she certainly has an energy about her that is uplifting. ~Dr. Yousef Mohammadi

Dr. Pohlman treats patients like family - every patient! She will see all patients. It doesn't matter who the PCP is, she always puts patients first. She works them in if other providers are behind OR will not see the patient. She NEVER refuses patients, and is just considerate to everyone, never lets anyone be in a bind. She's just amazing!

During COVID, she simplified the video visit and in-office ratio, sent the schedules out, and all providers are extremely happy. She is an effective communicator and extremely intelligent. She also leads by example...she doesn't expect her peers to work in the hub and she not do the same.

Why Kathy....

Kathy Mullin Spotlight digital boardShe is just absolutely invested every minute!

Kathy is always the last to leave the building; all notes are finished and patients are called. She feels it is important to personally call patients who need further explanation. She leads by example, expecting all team members to give 120% for our patients and each other. She has given patients money that are on fixed incomes, for their prescriptions, etc. She will do anything possible to help patients and team members.

I have worked with Kathy for many years – she consistently puts patients first and works hard to take care of any patients she sees. She is quick to volunteer to help if needed. She is incredibly valuable to our office as a partner in taking care of our patients. ~Dr. Mery Kendall

Kathy is a true servant leader who has been at Community since its inception. She went door to door for money to build Community East! She gives her heart and soul, tells patients she is here to serve them, works on her own time, never complains, and is absolutely brilliant! She is just as kind and helpful to the support team, helping to solve issues and seeing patients that are not scheduled with her to help a peer.

She recommends ideas on how we can expand care and works the late hours so that patients can come in after work, dinner, etc. to be seen. She is always there for the patient, offering whatever she can to help, including creative ideas to get patients here for visits and video visits to help those who cannot transport themselves.
