Laura Pickard joined Community Health Network Foundation in September 2015. As vice president of development, her focus is on the short and long term strategic, philanthropic, and financial goals of the Foundation. She is responsible for leading fundraising strategies that match Community’s needs with the wishes of donors to cultivate meaningful gifts that contribute to Community’s mission.
A native of Ohio, Laura moved to Indianapolis in 1998. In 2008, Laura became a grateful patient after being hospitalized at Community Hospital North. While Laura’s career had always been in the not-for-profit world, this experience motivated her to give back, which subsequently helped her find her true passion in healthcare fundraising.
Laura has spent her career in the not-for-profit sector with decades of fundraising and volunteer management. Laura began her work with the Boy Scouts of America and spent 15 years in development and operations. After three years with Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Central Indiana, she made the move to healthcare and served for three years as a major gift officer with the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation.
Laura earned her bachelor of arts degree in English literature from the Ohio State University. She and her husband, Joe, have a daughter, Olivia.
