Michelle Mahaffey

Michelle Mahaffey serves as the executive vice president and chief human resources officer of Community Health Network, a position she has held since May 2020. As a member of the network Executive Committee, Michelle contributes to the design and implementation of the network’s strategic plan. As the chief HR officer, Michelle guides the strategic direction of the network’s workforce and oversees the Human Resources function, encompassing employee engagement, talent development, organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, employee relations, training and education, DEI, compensation, benefits, HRIS, payroll, and employee well-being.

With over 25 years of HR experience, Michelle previously served as the chief human resources officer at Simon Property Group, a leading global retail real estate company. Before her tenure at Simon, Michelle held various HR roles at Cummins and Dell.

Michelle holds a master of business administration with concentrations in finance and human resources from Vanderbilt University. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing from the University of Kansas, and a law degree from the same institution, where she focused on business, securities, tax, and employee benefits law. Michelle’s commitment to community and leadership is demonstrated through her active participation on several local non-profit boards of directors.
