Karen Ann P. Lloyd is executive vice president of legal affairs and general counsel of Community Health Network, the second largest healthcare network in Indiana. She has held this position since September 2004.
Karen Ann is responsible for the legal affairs of Community Health Network. In addition, she oversees the following areas: internal audit, legislative affairs, social accountability/community benefit, corporate investigations and ethics. She serves on Community’s executive leadership team, which is responsible for ensuring implementation of the network’s strategic plan.
Prior to joining Community Health Network, Karen Ann spent 10 years with the Indianapolis-based law firm Ice Miller, serving as partner and of counsel. She was senior associate in the health department of Epstein Becker & Green in Washington, DC, for two years. She also served as general counsel and senior health policy analyst for the Prospective Payment Assessment Commission (now the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission), and was on the professional staff of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health.
Karen Ann serves as the 2025 Chair of the Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Board of Directors, is a director on the Indianapolis Zoological Society board and a member of its diversity committee, and is a director on the Indianapolis Symphony Society board and member of its governance committee.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Indiana University, where she also took graduate coursework in health system administration through the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She earned a law degree from the Indiana University School of Law in Bloomington.
