Heather Benson, MD, PhD, is a board-eligible obstetrician and gynecologist who completed her residency training at Indiana University School of Medicine, with a focused emphasis on gynecologic subspecialties and complex gynecologic surgery. During her training, she studied under certified master surgeons specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, further refining her technical expertise in advanced surgical techniques.
Dr. Benson has a special interest in advanced complex robotic surgery and the treatment of uterine fibroids. She is particularly passionate about improving health outcomes for African-American women and advancing equitable care through clinical excellence, education, and innovation.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Benson has a strong interest in medical equipment design and innovation. In her personal time, she enjoys playing and listening to music, maintaining an active fitness routine, and traveling—particularly to Kauai, Hawaii and Maryland.
